Basketball Recap: Tipton Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Tipton dropped to 2-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Western Panthers by a score of 52-49. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 23-16 in the first quarter.

Tipton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Peyton Auler, who went 6-for-7 en route to 14 points and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Kellen Williams, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 12 points.

As for Western, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since December 20, 2024.

It was another big night for Carter Biggs, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 21 points. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Gavyn Hartzler also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Tipton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-53 loss against Muncie Central on the 16th. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 76-43 victory against Twin Lakes on the 16th.
