Baseball Recap: Carson Victorious

Carson won the last time they faced Salisbury and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory.

Carson gave Jacob Prevette the start and clearly made the right call: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Prevette a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Kirk, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Alexander, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The win got Carson back to even at 1-1. As for Salisbury, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Carson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 defeat against North Stanly on the 4th. As for Salisbury, they have also already played their next game, an 8-5 victory against Statesville on the 4th.
