Softball Game Preview: Corinth Warriors vs. New Hope Trojans

For the second straight game, Corinth will face off against New Hope. The Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Corinth has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while New Hope will arrive with seven straight wins.

Corinth lost 9-2 to New Hope on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly seven runs.

For New Hope's part, Kaselyn Harcrow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Harcrow has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lexi McBrayer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lea Kathryn Hardy, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

New Hope kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corinth only managed four hits.

New Hope's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Corinth, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
