Softball Recap: Tri-Township Comes Up Short

Tri-Township extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 19-3 to the Hebron Hawks. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Hawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alexa Latta was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

As for Hebron, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Hebron's side, Savanna Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Addison Toczek and Addison Dujmovich did most of the damage at the plate: Toczek got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Dujmovich went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Dujmovich a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Siminski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Tri-Township will square off against Kouts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hebron, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
