Preview: Duchesne Eagles vs. Gunnison Valley Bulldogs
After two games on the road, Duchesne is heading back home. They will take on the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Duchesne ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against San Juan and snuck past 69-66. The victory was just what Duchesne needed coming off of a 76-55 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Gunnison Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Sevier on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gunnison Valley.
Duchesne's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Gunnison Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Duchesne skirted past Gunnison Valley 72-69 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Duchesne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gunnison Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
