Softball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Talawanda, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Brave by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Brave: they've now lost six in a row.

Jaylee Rose made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Henson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Talawanda, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Coming up, Edgewood will take on Ross at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Talawanda, they will head out to square off against Badin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
