Baseball Recap: Marathon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Marathon put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Berean Christian. The Dolphins blew past the Bulldogs 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Roco Piscetello looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Curren Nicolay was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Leal, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Marathon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Marathon, bringing their record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Berean Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marathon will face off against Jupiter Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dolphins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Berean Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Highlands Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
