Baseball Recap: Hoover Triumphs

Hoover's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Rock Academy Warriors. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Lucian Hura was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs. He has become a key player for Hoover: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 0-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Yeray Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Hoover's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Rock Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Hoover wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-3 victory against Kearny on the 13th. As for Rock Academy, they will challenge Foothills Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
