Softball Recap: Stanwood Beats Edmonds-Woodway for Their Third Straight Win

Stanwood entered their tilt with Edmonds-Woodway on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 10-3. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Megan Stulc spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rubi Lopez, who scored five runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Ryan, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Stanwood's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Edmonds-Woodway, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Stanwood will be playing at home against Marysville Getchell at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
