Softball Game Preview: Greer Yellow Jackets vs. Emerald Vikings

The Greer Yellow Jackets will face off against the Emerald Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Greer came up short against York on Tuesday, falling 9-3. The Yellow Jackets have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Greer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellee Chambers, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Emerald can now relate to. They lost 15-0 to the Tigers on Tuesday. The Vikings were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

Greer now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Emerald, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Greer skirted past Emerald 7-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2016. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
