Basketball Recap: Oasis Academy Find Success

If Coral Academy of Science - Reno wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Oasis Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Fenn Mackedon. The Oasis Academy Bighorns came out on top against the Coral Academy of Science - Reno Falcons by a score of 45-36 on Tuesday thanks in part to Mackedon, who went 10 of 24 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Oasis Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Trevor Barrenchea, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played.

Oasis Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Coral Academy of Science - Reno, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Oasis Academy will take on Battle Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Battle Mountain will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Oasis Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coral Academy of Science - Reno, they will square off against North Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
