Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Bleckley County's Winning Streak

Bleckley County lost against East Laurens last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bleckley County Royals received a blow as they fell 70-53 to the East Laurens Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd).

It was another big night for Tylan Snead, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds for East Laurens. That's the most boards Snead has posted since back in December of 2023. Skyler Snead was another key player, going 7 of 13 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

With the defeat, Bleckley County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-8. As for East Laurens, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bleckley County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-50 loss against Veterans on the 14th. As for East Laurens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-45 victory against Jefferson County on the 14th.
