Softball Recap: Riverside Falls Short Against Ranked Woodgrove

Riverside faced Woodgrove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Ram came up short against the Wolverines, falling 17-7. The Ram haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Jaiden McCallum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lauren Enright, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Woodgrove, their record now sits at 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Briar Woods at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The Ram are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Falcons a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Woodgrove, they will challenge Loudoun Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
