Recap: Central Falcons vs. Lackey Chargers
The Central Falcons pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lackey. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Lackey is ranked 107th).
Lackey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Mansaray, who scored 28 points. The game was Mansaray's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malik Gordon, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-4-1 record this season. As for Lackey, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will finish 2023 at home by hosting Chopticon at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chopticon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Tuesday. As for Lackey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Westlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
