The Loyd Star Hornets will take on the Florence Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyd Star is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Loyd Star's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Amite County 18-0. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Loyd Star got a massive performance out of Kenzie Kay Lofton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Lofton has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Kate Britt, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Loyd Star hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Puckett. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Wolves since March 6, 2018.

Loyd Star's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
