Baseball Recap: Seward Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Seward had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 5-2 to the Columbus Discoverers on Saturday. The Bluejays have struggled against the Discoverers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Brycen Burt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Keyan Schadwinkel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win got Columbus back to even at 1-1.

Seward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-5 defeat against Norris on the 24th. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Lincoln Southwest on the 24th.
