Sylvan-Lucas proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 30) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rock Hills Grizzlies 45-43. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs who have now won six matchups in a row.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper McDill, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 44.2% of Rock Hills' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Eli Whelchel was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Sylvan-Lucas' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Rock Hills, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Sylvan-Lucas will welcome Otis-Bison at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Rock Hills, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pike Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rock Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
