Basketball Preview: Folsom Bulldogs vs. Venture Academy Mustangs
Having just played yesterday, the Folsom Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the Venture Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Folsom came up short against the Thunder and fell 76-68. Folsom has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Venture Academy put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Big Valley Christian 90-58 on the road. Given Venture Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Lions are ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Venture Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Jayden Fakhouri was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Folsom's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Venture Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
