Soccer Game Preview: Rocky Mount vs. Nash Central

The Rocky Mount Gryphons will head out to face off against the Nash Central Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rocky Mount's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Rocky Mount lost 9-1 to Northern Nash on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Rocky Mount can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Northern Nash are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, Nash Central kept a clean sheet against Roanoke Rapids on Thursday. They beat the Yellowjackets by a goal, winning 1-0. Nash Central's winning goal came courtesy of Addison Roughton.

Nash Central's record is now 10-5. As for Rocky Mount, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Rocky Mount suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Nash Central in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Gryphons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
