Football Game Preview: Kingsway Dragons vs. Washington Township Minutemen

The Kingsway Dragons will face off against the Washington Township Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Kingsway sitting on four straight wins and Washington Township on 12.

Kingsway is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 37-21 victory over Atlantic City. Kingsway's win was all the more impressive since the Vikings were averaging only 14.09 points allowed on the season.

The critical scores for Kingsway came from Za'Hir Paynter, JD Johnson, Musa Jackson, Mason Bryan, and Jordan Hernandez.

Kingsway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Kingsway's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Andrew Wands and Jackson, who each picked up one interception apiece. Jackson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Washington Township humbled Old Bridge with a 38-7 victory. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Washington Township had a senior duo take command as Andrew Osborn rushed for 82 yards and three TDs on only ten carries and Colin Beeler rushed for 127 yards and one score.

Kingsway's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Washington Township, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.

Kingsway couldn't quite finish off Washington Township in their previous meeting back in October and fell 39-36. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
