Basketball Recap: Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors vs. Bloomingdale Blazers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Bloomingdale by a score of 62-53. For Mount Hope Christian Academy, this counts as revenge for the 82-51 defeat the Blazers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for JOSIAH MCKOY, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Mount Hope Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was BRANSON MILLER, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Bloomingdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dorian Reese, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reese has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomon Backus, who scored 12 points.
Mount Hope Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Bloomingdale, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Mount Hope Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
