Softball Recap: Landstown's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Landstown's last matchup with Kempsville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Eagles lost 8-1 to the Chiefs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in April.

With the defeat, Landstown broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11. As for Kempsville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Landstown is set to face off against their familiar foe Cox at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kempsville will take on rival Ocean Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chiefs 2.6, the Dolphins 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
