Baseball Recap: ThunderRidge Takes a Loss

ThunderRidge extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-14 in the process. They lost 13-3 to the Chaparral Wolverines. Surprisingly, this marked the Grizzlies' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Shane Christy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Santomo, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Chaparral, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. Considering they have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Chaparral's side, they got a big performance out of Tommy Humphrey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Josh Sutrina, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will welcome Fossil Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Grizzlies will need to watch out since the SaberCats have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. As for Chaparral, they will be playing at home against Legend at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
