Preview: Michigan Center Cardinals vs. Napoleon Pirates

The Michigan Center Cardinals on the road again on Thursday and play against the Napoleon Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Michigan Center is ranked 173rd, while Napoleon is ranked 175th).

Michigan Center proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 28) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over Hanover-Horton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Michigan Center has posted yet this season.

Meanwhile, Napoleon had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top against Jonesville by a score of 60-47.

Michigan Center's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Napoleon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Michigan Center was able to grind out a solid victory over Napoleon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 50-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Michigan Center since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
