Baseball Recap: Southwest EC Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Southwest EC, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Central Spartans by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Cole Redden made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Isaiah Aguilera was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Brock London was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southwest EC pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Southwest EC beat the Spartans by a score of 13-2 on Friday.
