Football Recap: Dirigo Skates Past Mountain Valley with Ease

Dirigo never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 32-0 win over the Mountain Valley Falcons. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Dirigo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trevor Crosby, Owen Smith, and Brady Philbrick picked up one apiece. Crosby got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Dirigo and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points over those games. As for Mountain Valley, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Dirigo will head out to face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Mountain Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mattanawcook at 7:00 p.m.
