League recap: Barron scores huge upset over Northwestern

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northwestern, who took down 93rd ranked Northwestern, 35-19.

Damen Feiertag and Travis Miller provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Spooner. The longest such play in Heart O'North this season, the connection resulted in 78 yards.

Cumberland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Feiertag threw for 129 and two touchdowns and Miller had 78 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Nyhus chipped in 192 yards. Taylor Johnson helped Cumberland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.

Conor Erb made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Beavers beat the Rails. The senior recorded two fumbles.

Cumberland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Beavers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kyle Narges has thrown for 830 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Miller has 12 catches for 278 yards. Nyhus leads the league in rushing with 643 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Barron takes on Cumberland. The Golden Bears are in third place, while the Beavers are in second place.

Barron moved up to 162 from 203 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Heart O'North. The Golden Bears climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-19 win over the Tigers.
