Volleyball Recap: Reagan Butler Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

There's no place like home for St. John XXIII, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Cypress Christian Warriors on Thursday. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

St. John XXIII easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-19.

St. John XXIII's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reagan Butler led the charge by getting eight digs and three assists. Those three assists gave Butler a new career-high. Carla Munoz was another key player, getting five aces.

The win got St. John XXIII back to even at 1-1. As for Cypress Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

St. John XXIII didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Round Top-Carmine on the 14th. As for Cypress Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Weimar on the 14th.
