Basketball Recap: Broken Bow Starts off Right with Win over Holdrege

Broken Bow had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Holdrege Dusters by a score of 29-19. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 37-35 victory the Dusters walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Broken Bow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charlee Myers led the charge by putting up eight points. What's more, Myers also racked up two rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Halle Quinn was another key player, posting five points.

Holdrege's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Broken Bow will head out to face off against Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holdrege, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Doniphan-Trumbull at 6:00 p.m.
