Basketball Game Preview: Winston Red Birds vs. Cainsville Redmen

After both having extra time off, the Winston Red Birds and the Cainsville Redmen will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winston has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 15.

Winston might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 41-26 to Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Cainsville was able to grind out a solid victory over North Harrison back in January, taking the game 42-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redmen.

The win got Cainsville back to even at 5-5. As for Winston, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Winston came out on top in a nail-biter against Cainsville when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 36-33. Will Winston repeat their success, or does Cainsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
