Baseball Recap: Columbus Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While Columbus Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Fredericktown Freddies by a score of 7-4 on Thursday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 victory the Freddies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Columbus Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Fredericktown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Columbus Academy will square off against Hamilton Township at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericktown, they will take on Cardington-Lincoln at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Freddies surely won't give up without a fight.
