Softball Game Preview: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs

The Copper Canyon Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Copper Canyon is looking for their season's first victory.

Copper Canyon came up short against Browne on Thursday, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain got themselves on the board against Westwood on Wednesday, but Westwood never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sunrise Mountain got a massive performance out of Mckenna Morgan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Brooke Hoffman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Sunrise Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sunrise Mountain's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Copper Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
