Oologah was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grove Ridgerunners, sneaking past 9-7. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 8-5 victory the Ridgerunners walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.
Asher Streeter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Streeter was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Hunter Moore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Maddux DeVilbiss, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for Oologah and bumps their season record up to 2-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Grove, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Oologah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kansas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
