Soccer Recap: Abilene Starts Season with Win at Home

Abilene took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They never let the Lubbock Westerners onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Westerners, too.

Abilene hit Lubbock with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rheauna De La Garza (2), Mason Murray, Keeley Aston, and Gabi Pallarez.

This is the second loss in a row for Lubbock and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Royse City the next time they take the pitch. Abilene will head out to face Royse City at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while Lubbock will head out to face them at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
