Volleyball Recap: Isaac Avila Elizalde Key Part of Team Effort in Falcons Win

Atwater got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Los Banos Tigers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-11.

Atwater got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Avila Elizalde out in front who had seven digs and four aces. Avila Elizalde is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last six games he's played. Damien Pulido was another key player, getting 13 digs and two aces.

The victory got Atwater back to even at 10-10. As for Los Banos, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Atwater is set to challenge their familiar foe Buhach Colony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Los Banos will take on rival Merced at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
