Basketball Recap: Owen Jackson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sierra Pacific

There's no place like home for Immanuel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 64-54 victory over the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Golden Bears on January 10th, they had to take a 62-57 defeat.

Immanuel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Joseph, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Loss or not, Sierra Pacific got some senior leadership from Colin Dodd and Nevin Pitkin. Dodd put up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks, while Pitkin earned 11 points and four steals. Pitkin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Kazden Berna was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Immanuel's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Sierra Pacific, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13.

Immanuel will square off against Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Immanuel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. As for Sierra Pacific, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kingsburg at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Kingsburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
