Baseball Recap: Poplar Springs Takes a Loss

Poplar Springs fell victim to Geneva County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Bulldogs. If the Atomics were looking for revenge after losing 16-12 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Poplar Springs and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Geneva County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Poplar Springs and Geneva County are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Atomics will face off against Sneads at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneva County, they will challenge Slocomb at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
