Football Recap: University Prep Comes Up Short

University Prep and McQuaid Jesuit squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but University Prep had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Knights. The Griffins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 28-14.

University Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gavin White, who rushed for 109 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Kamari Miller was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for University Prep and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for McQuaid Jesuit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-6.

University Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they have already played their next game, a 23-20 defeat against Pittsford on the 8th.
