Basketball Recap: Kenston Forest Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kenston Forest waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Southampton Academy Raiders by a score of 67-58. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-50 back in January.

Kenston Forest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dayton Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Kenston Forest's points. Will Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

G Applewhite and E Webb certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Applewhite dropped a double-double with 23 points and 17 boards, while Webb posted 18 points. Applewhite is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of A Darden, who scored seven points.

Kenston Forest's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Southampton Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Kenston Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southampton Academy, they have already played their next game, a 71-44 victory against Isle of Wight Academy on the 13th.
