Basketball Recap: Tucumcari's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Tucumcari came tearing into Saturday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over the Clayton Yellowjackets. The Rattlers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Caylee Benavidez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Lopez, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Tucumcari smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 52 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
