Basketball Recap: Henrico Comes Up Short

Henrico lost against Varina back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Henrico Warriors were outmatched by the Varina Blue Devils and fell 82-43. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 13th).

This is the second loss in a row for Henrico and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Varina, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Henrico has already played their next match (against Mechanicsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Varina will challenge Nansemond River at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Varina knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Nansemond River likes a good challenge.
