Volleyball Game Preview: Mater Dei Monarchs vs. Buchanan Bears

The Mater Dei Monarchs will square off against the Buchanan Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mater Dei comes in on seven and Buchanan on three.

Mater Dei is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Francis Parker by a score of 3-1.

Mater Dei walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 26-24, 19-25, 27-25.

Mater Dei found their leader in sophomore Beck Schobel, who had seven digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Buchanan beat Del Oro 3-1 on Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-29, 25-18, 25-19.

Buchanan's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-16. As for Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 30-12-2.
