Football Recap: Village Christian Starts Season with Win Against Huntington Park

Village Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the Huntington Park Spartans to the tune of 57-21. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Hudson Gerhardt and Nathan Remeny both made on the matchup. Gerhardt rushed for 91 yards and one score while Remeny threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes. Gerhardt really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run.

Village Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-13 win against North Hollywood on the 29th. As for Huntington Park, they have also already played their next game, a 41-6 defeat against Banning on the 28th.
