Basketball Recap: Ramael Warren Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

On Tuesday, the Greater Vision Academy Lions didn't have too much trouble with the Iron Academy Swordsmen as they won 68-52. The Lions pushed the score to 61-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Swordsmen cut but never quite recovered from.

Greater Vision Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ramael Warren led the charge by going 11 for 16 en route to 24 points along with eight boards and five assists. Warren is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayce King, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points.

Greater Vision Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Iron Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Vision Academy will venture away from home to take on Quality Education Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Quality Education Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Iron Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th.
