Basketball Recap: Abrielle Dugan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainfield over Ben Davis

If Plainfield was feeling good fresh off their 81-39 takedown of Danville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Quakers fell 62-50 to the Ben Davis Giants on Tuesday. The loss was the Quakers' first of the season.

Plainfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abrielle Dugan, who posted 11 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 50% field goal percentage. Caroline Pugh also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Aleia Sultzer had an outrageously good game for Ben Davis as she shot 50% from the field en route to 19 points and seven boards. What's more, Sultzer posted three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tatum Skibinski, who went 7-for-10 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Plainfield fell to 3-1. As for Ben Davis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Plainfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-32 win against Perry Meridian on the 21st. As for Ben Davis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-33 defeat against Warren Central on the 22nd.
