Basketball Game Preview: Cotter Ramblers vs. La Crescent Lancers

Cotter is 2-8 against La Crescent since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cotter Ramblers will take on the La Crescent Lancers at 7:30 p.m. La Crescent took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cotter, who comes in off a win.

Cotter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 86-76 win over Lewiston-Altura on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.

Meanwhile, La Crescent was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 58-53 to Winona.

Cotter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for La Crescent, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8.

Cotter came up short against La Crescent in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 62-55. Can Cotter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
