Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Lightning vs. The King's Academy Knights
After a string of four wins, the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of The King's Academy. Lanier Christian Academy has not had much luck with The King's Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Lightning players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adelyn Gough, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Ellie Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Lanier Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for The King's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Lanier Christian Academy will be playing at home against Fideles Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The King's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against The Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. The timing isn't great for The Grace Christian Academy: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while The King's Academy has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
