Santa Ynez made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Arroyo Grande, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates blew past the Eagles 3-0 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won six contests in a row.

Santa Ynez's got stronger as the match went on, holding Arroyo Grande to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-12.

Santa Ynez pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Arroyo Grande, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-12.

Coming up, Santa Ynez will face off against Oxnard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Arroyo Grande, they will be taking part in a tournament against Huntington Beach at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
