The Marco Island Academy Rays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over Southwest Florida Christian. The victory was just what Marco Island Academy needed coming off of a 44-22 loss in their prior game.

Marco Island Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lyndsay Lowdermilk out in front who scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. Amelia Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Marco Island Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Southwest Florida Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

After both having extra time off, both teams will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Southwest Florida Christian is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
