Softball Recap: Faith Christian Takes a Loss

Faith Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 12-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Skylar Powers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Whitley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Harrells Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Coming up, Faith Christian will welcome Freedom Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Wake Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 13.3 runs per game this season.
